Caregiver’s Support Group

Join us every Monday from 10-11 AM (PDT) in the church Zoom room (8183460820) for the Interfaith Caregivers’ Support Group.

The group is flexible in how we define “caregiver”. A caregiver might be someone caring for an elderly loved one, a differently-abled loved one, a young child, or a special needs pet. ANYONE who is struggling to meet the demands of care-giving is welcome to attend!

The structure of the support group looks like this. We begin by reading one of the daily devotions from a book by Alan Wolfelt called Grief One Day at a Time. The reading is screen shared on Zoom for those who don’t yet have a copy of the book. We discuss any issues the devotion may have raised for us. Then we do check ins. By starting with a devotion, this allows attendees to get to know one another a little before we start with check ins.

Anyone from around the world is welcome to attend. The group is open to people of all faiths – and no faith. We hope you will join us – and invite anyone else you know who might be struggling with the demands of care-giving – this Monday!

Project Proposal Form

Project Proposal Form

WHCC supports and encourages its participants to take the initiative for programs in the life of the church.  Individuals who have ideas to bring forward for consideration by the Leadership Team are asked to complete a Project Proposal form.

Important Things to Understand About Proceeding

  • The role of the five members on the Leadership Team is two-fold. First, they will serve as a point person for you to ask questions.  Second, they will help facilitate communication between the staff and congregation – and the individual making the proposal.  Their role is NOT to take over, work on, or accept responsibility for the proposal.
  • Responsibility for getting word out about the proposal lies with the individuals making the proposal. They should not expect members of the Leadership Team or church staff to accept this responsibility for them.
  • Announcements for the weekly bulletin and church website must be submitted by Wednesday at 5:00 PM if the information is expected to be included in the Sunday bulletin, placed on the church’s website, and social media platforms.
  • The Leadership Team may ask individuals to sign a Covenant that spells out expectations in writing so that each of the parties understands the commitment the church and the community group is making to one another. The purpose of such a covenant is to clearly define expectations so there are not later misunderstandings.
